Welcome to Rocky Mountain Mental Health

We are a psychiatric nurse practitioner-based practice located in the beautiful Littleton, Colorado. We provide individualized treatment plans and evaluations for various mental health disorders, focusing on reproductive psychiatry and perinatal mental health.

What is Reproductive Psychiatry and Perinatal Mental Health?

Reproductive Psychiatry is a person’s mental, emotional, and behavioral health conditions at every stage of the childbearing process. This includes planning for a family, pregnancy, adopting, surrogacy, childbirth, parenting, miscarriages, and struggles with infertility.

Perinatal Mental Health is a specific part of reproductive psychiatry. It is a person’s mental health during the weeks before pregnancy, during, and many weeks after childbirth.

a brief tale of

Our Story

and our why

After many years of working as a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner at other practices, RMMH founder, Jessica Oldham, felt there had to be a better way to care for patients. Packed schedules, overloading patients, and short appointment times meant burnout for the providers and patients not receiving the quality of care they deserved.

While working long days, Jessica and her husband decided to start a family. It was not long into their parenthood journey that Jessica began to experience postpartum mental health issues. Through her struggles, she quickly noticed the significant lack of attention and resources dedicated to women struggling with their fertility, pregnancy, and postpartum mental health in the psychiatric community. Even worse, when Jessica sought help, she was repeatedly given misinformation from providers and felt overwhelmed by the shame and embarrassment about her thoughts and feelings. After months of searching, Jessica found a specialized treatment plan that met her needs.

While Jessica began to feel like herself again, she knew many other women were still stuck feeling lost, alone, and ashamed. Striving to help those women, Jessica dove into additional perinatal mental health and reproductive psychiatry education courses and certifications.

Equipped and eager to create a place where women can find balance and healing in the wake of motherhood and family planning, Jessica launched Rocky Mountain Mental Health.

Shortly after a year into the practice, fellow PMHNP Sarah Mobley joined the team. Like Jessica, after years of working at other practices, Sarah became disenchanted with the conventional psychiatric care structure. For the past several years, Sarah has struggled with extensive fertility issues that have led to various assisted reproductive interventions. Having experienced these issues, Sarah grew passionate about providing quality and ongoing care to those struggling with perinatal, parental, and postpartum mental health conditions.

Jennifer Livingston, PMHNP, the last provider to join RMMH, became part of the team in 2021. Jennifer, a mother of two children, has gained extensive experience working with perinatal patient populations; from bedside nursing on a high risk labor and delivery unit early in her career to continuing education in perinatal mental health and advanced practice nursing. In joining forces with both Jessica and Sarah, Jennifer hopes to continue to impact generations of families through her compassionate approach to mental health.

At Rocky Mountain Mental Health, Jessica, Sarah, and Jennifer combine evidence with empathy to create personalized treatment plans that meet your needs. There is no one-size-fits-all.
